Bhumi Pednekar: "It has been really overwhelming to see so many SOS calls from across the country"
Bhumi Pednekar is using social media to help people suffering from coronavirus. With the help of her social media initiative Covid Warrior, she has united Indians to stand beside fellow citizens of the country to ensure as many lives can be saved. This social media movement has seen complete strangers lending a helping hand to those deeply affected by the pandemic.
Bhumi says, “Covid Warrior is an initiative of the people, for the people and by the people of India who have been working relentlessly to save as many lives as possible. It has been really overwhelming to see so many SOS calls from across the country and my heart goes out to everyone affected by the virus. We have been trying to do our best to help and support as many people as possible. It couldn’t have been possible if India wouldn’t have united to protect each other and for that, I’m thankful to the citizens of my country. We will overcome this virus.”
The social media initiative that started with a team of 5 volunteers is now 200 + volunteer strong across India, who work 24x7 to save as many lives as possible by intercepting SOS messages on social media. She has been working non-stop to find ICU/ICU Ventilator/Oxygen/Oxygen Beds/Critical Medicines across the country.
The initiative is extremely close to Bhumi’s heart as she started this after her mother tested positive for the coronavirus and was quite critical. She made it her mission to save lives thereafter.
Bhumi has been raising awareness on the pandemic, vaccination, and post-recovery process constantly through her social media and her team of volunteers.
